And our bass player even spent some time as a touring member of Resistant Culture in 2008 (name drop heh) In early 2010 the band came to life but wasn't complete until the final pieces of the puzzle fell into place in September 2010 with the addition of a very talented female guitar player and the vocalist. These tracks were recorded in December 2010 and we are in process of writing new material for our second cassette due to come out sometime this year.

the line up consists of...

Ralph - drums
Chelly - guitar
Mike - bass
and myself (Adrian)- vocals

hope you enjoy what you hear and if you would like to purchase our cassette please do so, it can be ordered from here. Distros get in touch as well!

http://www.mediafire.com/?h88wqv6q69w5o9d

feel free to write a review and re post the link on your own blog, but please mention where you can purchase the tape!!!

also if you are in the Las Vegas area or down to travel we will be having a record swap/pot luck and tape release show on February 26th with 2 amazing bands from Los Angeles.. During their relatively short career in the mid/late 80's, the band visited the recording studio three times, resulting two ep's and a three-song demo. A compilation album of these songs was released in 2004 and was named "R.I.P. recordings 1984-1986".

Pete and Jappe were friends, and started the band at the age of fifteen (Pete) and sixteen (Jappe), after spending a couple of years banging on cardboard boxes and yelling into the cleaning brushes in Jappe's father's boiler room. They were also spending time together listening punk rock. Bands like the Ramones, Sex Pistols, U.K. Subs and Lama were the first big names, but the final kick for forming a punk band came when the guys got a hold of Discharge's "Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing"-lp, and "Why?"-ep. That was the time when the first Propaganda Records' compilation album was released too, the new Finnish HC-punk bands on that record, like Riistetyt, Kaaos, Terveet Kädet all sounded awesome. Then they had the pleasure of seeing Appendix and Destrucktions playing live at their home town. That was a really influential HC-gig, especially Destrucktions. Without these bands it could have been a really different story.

After getting their hands on some equipment, the guys started to practice in Jappe's parents garage. After practicing for a while, the band was named Mellakka, and the first real line-up was Pete (voc), Kapulainen (bass), Janne (guitar), Jappe (drums). The band was ready to make it's first gigs, and did, but quite soon the vocalist Pete left the band, and joined the other HC-band in Rauma punk scene, Pohjasakka, as a bass player. In the meantime, Jappe met yet another bass player called Holkka. Kapulainen was ready to sing and Holkka naturally took the job of playing the bass. This change seemed to work, and the band sounded much better than before.

Soon Mellakka had enough new songs and it was time to visit the studio. The first "Ei"-ep, was published in autumn '84 by the guys themselves, mainly because nobody else would do it. Almost all the records at that time were published by the Propaganda Records, but Mellakka thought that they should release it themselves. All the other new bands were doing the same, Sekaannus, Massacre and bands like that.

The musical influences of the band can be spotted on the record. There was some disappointments after finishing the ep, it didn't sound nowhere near as great as "Hear Nothing", but at the end of the day the guys had to be more than pleased with the result. Everything in the studio went quite well, for being the first time. The place was called Laser-studio and it was built in an old barn. It was run by a religious fanatic fool, but the guy who did the actual recording/mixing was a hippie called Pertti Palonen and he really has quite a lot to do in how both of the ep's and the demo are sounding... a very nice guy. They have only good memories of him. He is probably the main reason why all of the Mellakka-recordings are made in that same place. The line-up for the "Ei"-ep was Kapulainen (voc), Janne (guitar), Jappe (drums), Holkka (bass). The guitarist Janne left the band right after the ep was released.

Luckily there was a help near by. A guitarist named Perttula, was digging the "Ei"-ep, hard, and was more than happy to join the group. The band continued to practice, made some new songs. Soon it was time to hit the studio for the second time. "Itsenäisyyspäivä"-ep from January '85 was made for Rat Poison Records run by Mr P. Järveläinen. Rat Poison published other punk/HC music too at that time, bands like Kuolleet Kukat. After visiting one practice session and hearing the new songs, Järveläinen reserved new studio time for the band. Only two weeks before the studio, the singer Kapulainen had enough, threw the mic to the floor saying "FYA, I never gonna sing a goddamn note again!", and just like that, it was over for him. Gotta respect that. Well anyways, the band was in trouble, new singers didn't grow on trees as they say. In desperation the guys even called to Mike Poison, who is/was known for singing for the great HC-band called Destrucktions. He promised to visit to the studio, to see what can be done, but didn't sound TOO excited... It was getting clearer and clearer that only one man can do this job.

The band got together with the original singer Pete, and after a long discussion and convincing, he decided to join the band again, and this time he stayed for good. The band did get the practice they needed before the studio and everything went just right after all. The guys thought that the result was far better than the first time around, sound wise, song wise, in all the ways. The band added some guitar riffs, solos and other non-HC-tricks in their songs, which made this record a bit more interesting than the first one. But no success without some losses, soon after the second ep was out, Holkka left the band.

Perttula's good friend Altti was to replace Holkka right away, as the band had some gigs to take care of. First he played the bass, later the guitar. The year '85 went by making new songs again and practicing, maybe more than ever. The absolute best gig was in Helsinki at Lepakko 5.18.1985. With them there were at least Rattus, Maho Neitsyt and Painajainen. There is VHS footage of that gig, but it's recorded so poorly, that you can't really tell what song they are playing at times, but '85-'86 they were at their very best form.

The band tried to find a publisher for their lp, and there was some discussions but that was far as it went and it never came thru. Anyways, the band decided to visit the studio just to make a demo if nothing else and have some fun. The result was three songs (Totuus II, Anti-kaikki, Turhaa taistelua), recorded in five hours, which have a lot of musical influences by metal/thrash scene of that time. This demo was recorded in February 1986, and was never even meant to be released, as they were going to record the songs again later with more time in the studio. The line-up for the demo was Perttula (bass), Jappe (drums), Pete (voc), Altti (guitar). Mellakka had about ten to fifteen other songs from the same period of time than these three songs, but never got the time to record them. Damn shame.

After the demo was made the band continued for some time, but the guys of the band started to get bored with the small town and soon everybody was leaving the place to different directions. It was time to lay the band to rest. Mellakka has practiced together few times after that. Last session was in 1993 when the band got together and played few days just for fun with the line-up: Perttula (guitar), Jappe (drums), Pete (voc) and Sätkä (bass). This is probably the line-up the band would have if they should play together again."
This LP compiles both 7"s and the '86 demo. not sure if the LP is still in press but you can buy the CD and Tape here

http://www.mediafire.com/?xjmm2wmqejzPainajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-36780528053946706552010-04-02T18:10:00.000-07:002010-05-03T15:16:32.139-07:00In Nomine Christi - Quo Vadis? They play a mixture of the slow plodding pace Crust similar to Amebix meets the Industrial flavorings of Godflesh and early Pitchshifter, they also throw in faster more straight forward hardcore at times. Lyrics are in German and are highly political dealing the negative aspects of church, today's life, media and modern science but with an even more personal touch than they did in Dekadent. All in all this is a solid release and its refreshing to hear bands that don't do the typical punk sound and are willing to experiment a little bit outside the genre's confines. This should still be available from the label here or here or if you are in the US order here

http://www.mediafire.com/?wo3iyjwgyee

get the 7" herePainajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-15115837542279193862010-02-04T03:54:00.000-08:002010-02-04T03:58:14.760-08:00busy busy busyso yea I've been mad busy lately haven't had time for this but I will be back to posting at least once a week when I return from Finland in 2 weeks. also check out Doc, This is Heavy... Mr. Andres Wade. And if you live in Vegas you know Andres is typically a drummer having drummed for Grimbus, Rippin' Shit, Bodies Burn, Sutured Esophagus, The Naturals etc. With Cogs and Sprockets he unleashes a relentless barrage of noisy Grind Core. The drums are the driving force to the music (which is to be expected). The guitars bears some resemblance to Napalm Death's "scum" only noisier and the overall experience will leave your head spinning cos in the short span of 1 minute and 44 seconds 11 songs (one of them a 324 cover)drop like a bomb and leave you wondering what the fuck just happened. This tape is limited to 35 copies and I believe is already sold out. Both of which I will most likely post up soon. I don't really know much about the band's history and there really isn't any info I could find on them. Musically they were a bit similar to Dystopia and first album Neurosis at times but with the addition of a violin and female vocals. This 7" came out in '96 or so and was released by the now defunct Hopscotch Records although there is a label with the same name that is currently active. Out of all of Saké's releases I think this is the only one still available through Ebullition so if you dig it order it! (to order from Ebullition you have to spend at least 100$ cos their prices on everything are wholesale prices so you can get a ton of stuff for mad cheap!) So for the mean time enjoy this slab of greatness and look out for their other releases posted up on here soon.

http://www.mediafire.com/?dnym1r43mmmPainajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-70259069741471907762009-08-06T12:18:00.001-07:002009-10-16T01:35:25.844-07:00Guts Pie Earshot - wait LP
Guts Pie Earshot are an experimental punk band from Germany and have existed since about 1993 This LP was released back in 1999 (and is their 2nd full length) by Skuld Releases which is more known for releasing punk on the hardcore and crust side of things and this albums stands out quite a bit. Immediately what stood out to me when I got this record was the use of a cello instead of a guitar although I think there is some use of guitar on this unless its distorted cello? I'm not quite sure their website doesn't mention them ever having a guitar player at all though. Their sound is a bit troublesome to pin down because there is a variety of influences from classical, middle eastern, jazz, drum n bass, punk. All topped off with some beautiful female vocals. The lyrics aren't really political at all they are on the poetic/personal side of things and I guess you can say "emo" before the term got ruined by what "emo" is now a days .The last track on here is an instrumental live track that is purely drum and bass. I believe its a preview to the album they released after this wich was purely instrumental drum bass and cello (I have yet to hear it though). Guts Pie Earshot still exist today as a cello and drum two piece. You can find their website here.
This was ripped from the LP and you can hear the crackles from it I'm not that tech savvy so I don't really know how to clean this up but its not bothersome at all to me since Im hearing those noises when I listen to the LP.

http://www.mediafire.com/?hdzyjzmhzhn

you can find another one of their albums herePainajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-44407875978820204042009-07-24T08:57:00.000-07:002009-08-01T10:55:47.500-07:00Klabautamann - merkur Klaubautamann come to us from Germany and play a progressive/jazz infused form of black metal not too unlike Enslaved.(Well at least on this album) I damn near had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't listening to Enslaved cos at times he sounds a lot like Grutle and some of the riffing reminds me of the vibe i got from the "monumension"/"below the lights" albums. I had heard the name kicked around for a long ass time since my early teens and knew they were part of the Crass records camp which produced some of my favorite bands ever (aside from Crass) ...Rudimentary Peni, Omega Tribe, Flux of Pink Indians, Zounds, The Mob, Alternative, Anthrax(uk) etc. But surprisingly enough I never got around to checking them out. So when I came across this CD at my local shop used and in the metal section, I didn't give it a second though I picked it up immediately. So as I'm driving home I popped this bad boy in the CD player and what emanated from the speakers was something absolutely wonderful. There's hints of all the greats in this Joy Division, The Mob, Bauhaus, The Cure.
So naturally I did a little research on Lack of Knowledge and come to find out Phil Barker and Tony Barber were both in this band and we all know (or do we?) that they both went on to play for The Buzzcocks (Tony Barber is still currently in the band) that just made The Buzzcocks even cooler in my book haha. So yea, This CD compiles their 1984 "grey" 7" on Crass Records and 1985 "Sirens are back" LP on Corpus Christi Records (an offshoot of the Crass label) The track listing differs from the original vinyl releases but who really cares about that all that matters is that this is some really great music.

Part 1

Part 2Painajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-9433454307626665732009-07-24T01:17:00.000-07:002009-07-24T01:23:11.729-07:00Oranssi Pazuzu - promo vid

This is pretty much the most straight forward black metal sounding song on the album and its a rager. It's nice and raw like their previous albums in a Darkthrone kind of fashion but on this album they seemed to step it up a notch and took what they were doing before and added a sludgy quality to the riffing. Kind of like if Black Sabbath decided to put out a raw black metal album but still that comparison doesn't do this justice. Another little extra they throw on this album is their use of a saxophone on several songs and in addition to that a banjo and a mandolin. Alot of typical black metal fans find this band a bit too bizzare for their liking but that's truly their loss if they aren't willing to open their mind to something a little different.

http://www.mediafire.com/?zdlz0jgyc1tPainajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-78078830423222664912009-07-21T13:40:00.001-07:002012-03-14T12:07:46.709-07:00Third World War - lost in a police state + comp tracksWhere to start about this really I don't know should I just give you the band history in a nutshell? Yeah, let's do that...

Shortly after the break up of The End when (bass player Geoff left to play for Curl Up And Die) (*edit* The End lasted a little bit longer after that when Squash took over on bass duties for a bit. I just now remembered, damn old age)
guitarist/vocalist Pit and drummer Keil recruited 2 new members Brian on bass and Matty on 2nd guitar/vocals. They began to immediately work on new songs and began to play a few shows. The first couple times they played was in the summer of 1999 they played on a Saturday and Sunday if im not mistaken. But anyway, It's needless to say they instantly became my favorite local band and It's during that weekend that I became friends with them. During that summer they recorded 2 tracks for the "Abcess Operandi" LP which was the first release for Seattle based label Aborted Society. The Comp also featured Axiom, Planet Trash, Scathed, Riot/Clone, Whorehouse of Representatives Toxic Narcotic etc . Shortly after that Brian decided to leave the band and Matty switched over to bass. The following spring they recorded this demo (which after the initial run of cd-r's were sold out the word demo was taken off the disc) The first four songs on this are in the UK82 hardcore punk vein and were the earliest songs written by them. Tracks 5-8 are the direction the band started going into a thrashy crust punk sound and one of the tracks was a re done version of the former band (The End). I had the honor of doing vocals for a few shows and working on new songs with them but by this time the band began to dissolve with some of the members branching out to different ventures. These days Pit is in Philly and is still making music with his band Moon Women, Matty is rapping now and goes under the moniker of Slug One, Keil lives in Portand and is also making music with his band Starfucker.(he now lives in LA, not sure if he is still a member of said band) Enjoy this little piece of Las Vegas history.

http://www.mediafire.com/?n3m0nu3khmwPainajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-67354509304799767942009-07-21T12:32:00.000-07:002009-07-21T13:32:48.058-07:00Oranssi Pazuzu - muukalainen puhuu
This release seemed to have come from left field. I came across this in another blog a while back and it came highly recommended so I decided to give it a whirl. And I'm glad I did this album is FANTASTIC. (I ordered my disc Immediately after hearing it!) I have always been a fan of the Black Metal bands that took outside influences and created something different from the hordes like Enslaved, Arcturus, Fleurety, Ved Buens Ende etc and quite frankly this band has earned a place among those names. They took elements from Black Metal, Jazz, Psychedelic Kraut Rock and created something pretty unique. I'm sure the legions of "tr00" black metal heads will hate this but really who cares about a bunch of lame asses hiding behind their computers talking shit on anything not "kvlt". This band is beyond that shit anyways and also if you're not really into metal at all seriously GIVE THIS A CHANCE! who knows you might end up loving it. I know I do. For those of you in the US I know its pretty expensive getting this from Finland so this should hold you over until The End distro gets their copies in stock.

http://www.mediafire.com/?n4qtiyjkmntPainajainenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01318239335032299267noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8875018030906675902.post-10390996908029937172009-07-21T09:14:00.000-07:002009-07-21T23:47:33.900-07:00Ikuinen Kaamos - Closure ep Ikuinen Kaamos are from Joensuu, Finland. And in their early years were more on the Black Metal end of the spectrum but as the band matured so did their sound incorporating elements of Death Doom and Progressive metal. They released a full length called "The Forlorn" back in 2006 and these 3 songs come from what was supposed to be their second album but the label that was putting it out backed out due to financial reasons so the band put this up on their website / Myspace . But if you knew that you would have done it by now thats why I'm sharing it with you.
But anyways, this ep has an Opeth vibe to it from around the "my arms, your hearse" & "still life" days but its not what I'd call a clone or worship band. At first listen I was put off by the clean vocals cos they came off as nasally and whiny but the music already had me sucked in so I was looking past them, then his guttural lows come in and my opinion went out the window suddenly everything made sense. The last track on here clocks in at 12+ minutes and is completely epic! This has been on heavy rotation for me for a couple months now and I like it more with each listen. Well I don't know anything really other than they are from Athens, Greece and they kick some ass. This is their first CD that was released in 2004 and it is some straight forward pissed off hc/punk. Their second disc (which I'm still trying to get a hold of) added some violin and synth action.
